Second Day Filming
On this particular day we were filming the day scene. We made sure we all met at the park near my house no later than 3:30pm as that is when it gets considerably dark. I rushed upstairs to do my hair, outfit and make-up meeting up with continuity and ran downstairs to help set up the tripod and other props. We started filming and became more fluent with time management as we understood wasting time was not going to get us nowhere, we have a certain knocking scene which we tried to use all our camera skills, filming with a over the shoulder shot but it did not quite work because spacing was small and the camera would have seen other aspects of the surrounding, breaking the 180 degree rule. I decided to do a hands free shot to make it look natural and as if the viewers are in my position, i simply healed the camera and opened the door following the camera through as if it’s my own eyes, it tilted and looked up and down at my 'new neighbour' introducing himself. This was challenging because i simply only have two hands and can only do so many things at once. Daniel did try to become my eyes at one point but we started bumping into each other and knew this tactic will not work. Creativity is necessity and our minds will hopefully continue to flow.
